There are 88 keys on a piano. And 88 teams competing at the Bedford Blues and BBQ Festival this weekend.
Coincidence? Or elaborate government conspiracy to increase the consumption of succulent, smoky, fall-off-the-bone, über-meaty ribs?
Either way, we're all in for the three-day festival devoted to all things serious barbecue & soulful blues.
Vote on amateur meat smokers Saturday, or sample the pros' carnivorous creations on Sunday. Each will only set you back 10 bucks for 10 samples and two voting chips. Or skip the exercise in sauce-doused democracy and just buy a full sandwich already.
Over the course of the weekend enjoy 20 blues and rock bands, including blues legend Buddy Guy and Escape, a Journey cover band.
Because if you're gonna polish off an entire brisket, six links of sausage and a full rack of ribs in one day, you better have a mantra.
And there's none better than Don't stop believin'.
