Corn on the 4th of July

Time for the Brass-Knuckle Corndog Beat-Down

America. Land of the free. Home of the all-you-can-eat.

And, let's not forget, lots of prizes.

This Fourth of July, as the rest of the city looks up for light-up celebrations of liberty, you can stare down at a stick of deep-fried hot dog swaddled in cornbread batter.

And because you're a patriot, shoving as many down your gullet as possible might earn you a $100 Libertine gift certificate. Not to mention a golden trophy symbolizing your victory over those crispy little popsicle sticks.

It's all part of the Fifth Annual Brass-Knuckle Corndog Beat-Down at the Libertine Bar.

Your free entry gets you the opportunity to win 15 minutes of frankfurter fame and the above-mentioned cash-like prize. Second place gets you a $50 version, and third receives $25 in quarters. In the event of a tie, it all comes down to a tequila shootout.

What a unique way to celebrate Independence Day (assuming you remember it after that mezcal showdown).
