Dallas Beer Kitchen taps into rare brews

The best part of a hangover? Hangover food.

Now you no longer have to get completely blitzed (or even buzzed) to enjoy the types of dishes that previously only found their way into your belly after last call.

Starting Friday, indulge in movie theater popcorn (made with good, old-fashioned, artery-clogging coconut oil), burgers made of brisket, and baked Pop Tarts topped with ice cream and Fruity Pebbles cereal.

It's all at Lower Greenville's Dallas Beer Kitchen, a gastropub dedicated to rare beers, blockbuster burgers, and at least one better-for-you bar food staple, grilled chicken wings.

The brainchild of beer bloggers Joe Scribner and Bryan Kaeser, DBK promises unusual and hard-to-find local and international brews from 30 taps, including Green Flash Hop Head Red Ale, Firestone Walker Wookey Jack IPA, Bear Republic Racer X Double IPA, and Founder's Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale.

And you don't even have to drink them all to get your reward of pulled pork tacos and truffled mac 'n' cheese.

But you might want to, anyway.
