You work well under pressure.
It's a valuable skill honed from years of putting off book reports, science fair projects, and income tax prep until midnight.
But now, performing with your feet to the figurative fire could tack on a few extra seconds to that fifteen minutes of fame you've been accruing for a lifetime.
It all takes place this weekend at the 24-Hour Video Race. In just one day, you and a team of friends will write, shoot, edit, and score a short film (5 minutes and under).
Minutes prior to the race, you'll receive this year's theme, location, prop, and line of dialog that must be included. Utilize traditional video equipment or enter the new all-mobile division in which the entire video must be shot and edited on a smartphone or tablet.
All entries will be screened at the Angelika Film Center Tuesday, May 14 to Thursday, May 16 (schedule posted online Monday). Finalists will be screened on Monday, May 20 with winning videos airing on KERA Channel 13’s Frame of Mind, and on You+Media Dallas.
Throwing the finished video over Spielberg's fence to get his attention? Entirely up to you.
