Roll out the Barrels

Big Texas Beer Fest kicks off second year

We have Sequel Anticipation Anxiety.

Look it up, it's a real thing.

That's because there's often so much riding on follow-ups and people can't help but have overly high expectations that can never possibly be met. (LikeĀ G.I. Joe: Retaliation, for example).

But there's one sequel guaranteed to surpass the original: The Big Texas Beer Fest 2013. In only its second year, it's already bigger, better, and beer-ier.

Featuring more than 100 breweries pouring 400-plus beers, the focus is on local and Texas craft brews, plus plenty of worldwide favorites thrown in to make non-Texas beers feel important, too.

Food trucks will line the streets outside, while plenty of cheese and food samples are offered inside the Automobile Building at Fair Park where the whole shebang takes place.

Music from
Fish Fry Bingo, The O's and The Hanna Barbarians keep the party going all afternoon, but it all wraps up at 6:30p.

You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
