Going for Gold

Silvercar sets out to change car rental service forever

The scenario:

1. The boss is arriving from corporate in New York.

2. Your mom is determined to take a mother-son road trip inspired by
Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen.

3. You desperately need to impress a girl.

These are just three of the many ways you can put a rental car to good use. But not just any rental car — Silvercar.

Launching Monday at DFW Airport, this new luxury service utilizes a smartphone app and a fleet of silver 2013 Audi A4s to completely revolutionize the auto rental industry. Your credit card information is stored within the app, so all you have to do is hit a few buttons and your kickin' wheels await.

Each A4 comes loaded with wi-fi, navigation, satellite radio and toll tag, too.

Dallas is the first market for Silvercar, but rumors have Charlotte, Denver, Nashville, San Francisco and San Jose as contenders for first-quarter expansion.

So when that happens, you'll be way ahead of the curve. And ready to take them at 60mph.

Price: $105-$150 average daily rental
