Rubik's Revenge

Your swankiest new staycation is cubed

Where can you find a former Aviary chef, $2K bottles of Dom Perignon, and the city’s largest all-season rooftop lounge?

Hint: Look towards the cube.

That cube is also known as River North’s new Godfrey Hotel, the most architecturally unique place to sleep downtown in years.

But there’s a helluva lot more going on in this cubist-inspired 16-story luxury work of art than sleeping.

Like, for instance, a 15,000-square-foot rooftop featuring a swanky cocktail lounge flanked by bi-level fire pits and cabanas/daybeds accessible through sliding glass doors — all under a giant retractable roof.

Enter said lounge for lamb lollichops, parmesan truffle fries, and wagyu steak sliders paired with a mint julep or Gentleman Jack seasonal sour. Then enter the VIP room for that Dom Perignon bottle service.

Huge skyline views and HD video walls littered throughout this 221-room playpen should keep you plenty entertained until the first floor restaurant opens later this year.

In the meantime, the rooftop’s open.
