2014 gets weird with the first-ever Chicago Circus Fest

Six weeks paid vacation. Nude beaches. The Office.
The Europeans got more than a few things right.
Add to the list the contemporary circus fest, making its way to U.S. shores for the first time next month as part of the first-ever Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival.
From solo clown shows to large Cirque du Soleil-style spectacles, 2014 is about to become a circus with seven national and international circus shows over seven days.
There's clowns spitting PBR on each other. There’s a contortionist mimicking the death of a turtle. There's trapeze artists, multimedia performances, and partial nudity.
There's also workshops and late-night cabaret-style performances held in venues throughout the city, including secret “black box” theatres you never knew existed.
So whether you’re looking to see sideshow freaks walk on glass, hot girls shake it burlesque style, or intimate acts of unclassifiable weirdness, one thing is for sure:
2014 is off to a helluva start.
