Culinary Ninjas

Asian cuisine and lethal cocktails attack the West Loop

Notice that conspicuously empty restaurant hiding in plain sight on Randolph?

It is the house of OON. And it is planning an attack on your taste buds.

Deploying the flavors of Southeast Asia in a stealthy West Loop location, this restaurant offers dinner and a ninja-like show of culinary prowess... without subtitles.

Take a seat near the bar for small plates and cocktails or head toward a gallery wall covered with vibrant, food-inspired art to find the spacious main dining room.

Start your attack with the unagi-glazed asparagus served with wheat berries and fennel. Then move on to duck pho served with seared foie gras. Land a KO with the rack of lamb covered in oyster sauce.

But watch out for The Second City Samurai: a silent but lethal potion of Junmai Ginjo sake, Letherbee Malört, kumquat simple syrup, and orange

At which point you might need to loosen that black belt a few notches.
