Designated Wine-r

Take a wine road trip this summer

Ever wonder what would happen if Sideways and Road Trip got together for a sequel?
Besides an awesome 90 minutes of film, we suppose it would look something like CitySwarm’s upcoming Summer Winery Tour — or, as we like to call it, a summer road trip for winos.
Because everyone wants to tour wineries but no one wants to drive, this event takes the driving out of drinking & driving… so you can focus on more important things.
Like catching a flick (Road Trip, perhaps?) while cruising in a private coach party bus to southwest Michigan’s wine country, where you’ll sample 25+ wines at four local wineries.
The tour wastes no time popping corks at first stop Shady Creek Winery, where 15 custom craft wines are yours for the sampling before a lunch of freshly grilled burgers, chicken sandwiches, and pulled pork is served on the gorgeous outdoor patio.
At the next stop, dessert is consumed in the form of — you guessed it, more wine — with an array of chocolate paired with fruit-flavored varietals at Founders Wine Cellar, yours to enjoy (but hopefully not spill) during a private tour of the production facilities.
By the time you wrap things up at final stop Round Barn Winery, you’ll have had so much wine you’ll think a live band is playing outdoors as you sip handcrafted brandies in a circa-1911 Amish barn.
Oh wait, that part is real.
