Breakfast of Champions

Bourbon vanilla doughnuts and duck confit pierogis at Endgrain

Full_endgrain

Lusting after a bacon doughnut with a side of farm-to-table fried chicken?

The good news: You don't need to seek out an all-night Dunkin' Donuts/KFC combo to find it.

Just stop by Roscoe Village's newest all-day gourmet destination, Endgrain, which serves both from 6a until closing time, starting June 1.

From a patchwork bar to a taxidermy bull, this 50-seat space does double triple duty.

In the morning, it acts as a grab-and-go coffee bar with doughnuts in bacon butterscotch or bourbon vanilla and Nutella milkstout flavors. During the day, it’s a cozy café with biscuit sandwiches and kimchi-braised pork pie. And at night, they dim the metal lights and serve up duck confit pierogi and smoked chicken pot pie

As for what pairs well with such disparate selections, the bar (which runs the length of the place) pours a rotating selection of 10 craft beers on tap as well as wine and cocktails.

Finally, a socially acceptable opportunity to have a beer for breakfast.
