Amber lighting, tufted booths and craft cocktails? We smell Brendan Sodikoff.
Curio, the cocktail lounge below Gilt Bar, has been reborn as The Library, Sodikoff's new exposed brick and red velvet cavern of overdue books and vintage glassware.
Distressed mirrors hang in gold frames, and black & white photographs transport drinkers to a simpler time—a time before you could get drunk in libraries (with other people).
The cocktail menu is heavy on classics — with all kinds of mules, daisies, and Old Fashioneds — as well as the Bee’s Knees (gin, lemon, and honey) and The Paloma (tequila, grapefruit, and soda).
And, unlike Curio, this Library serves up steamed mussels, ricotta gnocchi, and pork meatballs, in addition to the Sodikoff staple of roasted bone marrow and red onion jam.
As for the librarians? No spectacled bookworms here, just spectacularly sexy clientele.
