Hawks Nests

It's game time at these favorite bars of Blackhawks players

We don’t want to jinx anything, but how about them Blackhawks?

The coolest thing about hockey pros is that more than any other major sport, they're approachable, regular guys. Who fight a lot. And have high disposable incomes.

Pull up a barstool and rub elbows with our Western Conference leaders at these Blackhawk player hangouts.

Market
This United Center-adjacent bar is not only a popular stop for the players, but also their celebrity fans (Vince Vaughn, anyone?). Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with stars on the rooftop bar once the weather gets bearable. For now, take advantage of free shuttle service to and from United Center, plus game day special $3 Fireball shots and $5 off your bill with your ticket stub.

Epic
In 2010, the Hawks took Lord Stanley on an epic bar crawl also known as “how many girls will swoon over this big piece of metal?” One of the stops was this River North bar with dining on the first floor, drinking on the second, and skyline views on the roof (pictured). Once the sky deck opens next month, don't be surprised to see a few star players mingling in the crowd.

The Pony, Lotties, and Frontier
Loyalty just doesn't apply to the team’s die-hard fans but to die-hard bars, too. Players and fans alike swear by the original Hawks hangout, The Pony, as well as fellow Pioneer Tavern Group bars Lottie’s and Frontier. Each bar claims the title of "official Blackhawks bar," and proves it with food/drink specials and a cool "sports bar with girls" scene during games.

Lotties, 1925 W. Cortland St., Bucktown (773-489-0738)
Frontier, 1072 N. Milwaukee Ave., Noble Square (773-772-4322)
