Art Town

Where to get your art on at this weekend's Artropolis

Looking to buy a good piece of art?

While that “Perseverance” poster at Kinko's is certainly tempting, we have a better idea.

Head to the Merchandise Mart this weekend for the annual Artropolis art fair, where hundreds of art dealers from across the world are hawking their wares.

You name it, you'll see it here: contemporary, emerging and fine art, plus sculptures, photography and antiques.

Visit the 12th floor exhibit space for a special project from L.A. graffiti superstar/ Obama campaign poster designer Shepard Fairey.

Learn the ins and outs of collecting at “Think Global, Collect Local” headed by Chicago collector Larry Fields.

On your way home, check out vintage photos from The Godfather and Taxi Driver for sale at nearby Catherine Edelman Gallery.

And the Art Institute is hosting an exhibition of photos of sliced sausage.

Good sausage, like all good art, is something to be admired.
