Makeovers can be a gamble.
Thankfully, this one fits firmly in the former category: starting March 16, Restaurant Week is reborn as Dine Out Boston.
And like Winnie, the reformatted dining program benefits from its new stripped-down look: the prix-fixe, three-course menu restrictions have been thrown out like a bad pick-up line.
Instead, chefs at participating restaurants (Mistral, Scampo, Rialto, and dozens more) can customize their own menus as they see fit, whether it's a single dish or a multi-course meal.
That means you can have grilled calamari and mushroom risotto for lunch at Grotto for $25 and a fish taco and sushi dinner at Haru for $38. Talk about self-care.
With more lunch options priced at $15, $20, and $25, and dinner choices available for $28, $33, and $38, maybe next week is when you give your weeknight dining plans a makeover.
Just please don't wear that jersey outside the house.
