Valentine's Day is for you and your main squeeze, an elegant night of fine wine and upscale food.
Tonight, however, is for something quite the opposite.
You'll find cheap draft beers and killer char-grilled burgers with the boys at Tim's Tavern Tuesdays at Coda Bar & Kitchen in the South End.
For 40 years, Tim's was a beloved neighborhood dive famous for its massive four-buck burgers and the eclectic, boisterous crowd of locals who packed in to sip beer, chow down, and crank classic funk and soul tunes from the jukebox. Not exactly your romantic V-Day spot.
But that's kind of the point. Before you get decked out to the nines for your night out next month, stop in tonight (and the last Tuesday of every month) in whatever you have on as Coda's new executive chef Kyle Stamps recreates Tim's no-frills atmosphere for the evening.
Expect classic diner fare — salads, hot and cold sandwiches, fish & chips — and a revival of their famous burgers, all priced at around $10-13, meaning you'll have plenty of spare change left over to call up a couple George Clinton jams from the jukebox.
Just save the love songs for February.
