Henry Hill had it all.
Money. Women. Power. And, of course, impeccable taste in Italian food.
In other words, you two have a lot in common. It's just that he happened to be a gangster and the subject of Martin Scorsese's classic mob flick Goodfellas, the featured film in the next edition of Theatre 1's Reel Chef dining series on Monday, January 27.
The similarities continue. You both like nice suits, drive nice cars, and you both sometimes have to take care of your crazy friends when they start to get a little carried away after a night out on the town (see: Joe Pesci).
And you can both appreciate a great meal, like the one prepared by Jared Forman, best known as chef de cuisine at Strip T's in Watertown. Think eggplant & fennel caponatina and spicy Sicilian lamb sausage — the kind of meal an Italian grandmother would make if you showed up with friends in the middle of the night.
Maybe along the way, you'll learn the three most important things in life: never rat on your friends, always keep your mouth shut, and using beef, pork, and veal in the meatballs and spaghetti is never a bad idea (just go easy on the onions in the sauce, please).
Rules to live by.
