Cocktail Culture

The Beehive brings art to where you'll see it... the pub

So it's been a while since you've been to an art museum. It's not that you don't like art.

It's just so much easier when someone brings the gallery to one of your favorite bars.

If only you could pull up a chair, sip a cocktail, and watch an exhibition from rising young artists built around you by the time you finish your drink...

Oh wait. You can. It's called Sting! XV, the sixth edition of The Beehive's annual art series, taking place tonight.

We know, nude still lifes are your favorite. But it's time to broaden your artistic horizons with original painting and photography from eight young local artists using waterfront scenes (you know, beaches, waterfalls, the vast infinite horizon of the ocean and all that) as inspiration.

Plus, what gallery do you know that has musical support from the Nat Man Band and killer new summer drinks called the Fog Cutter (black currant and gin) and El Chicano (rye, Kahlua, and coffee bitters) on their drink menu?

Next challenge: transporting your workplace to a bar.
