Pool Off

Boston's roof deck pool scene heats up

Full_indigopool_1

This summer, we present the pool.

And not just for poolside bottle service and private cabanas, but for high-altitude dives into the deep end.

Consider the beach obsolete as you indulge in Boston's top three pool scenes.

The Reigning Champ
Nestled between the Back Bay and South End, the Colonnade's rooftop pool is a pioneer in skyscraper sunbathing. Expect plush terry towels and complimentary sunscreen upon arrival. While a day pass will set you back a hefty $50, it sure beats trying to get sand out of your underwear. Again.

New Kid on the Block
Chill by day and party downstairs at Emerald Lounge once the sun goes down. Technically speaking, the pool at the Revere Hotel is inside, but the scene provides plenty of opportunity to scope the beautiful people who’ll continue to flock (especially given that it just opened for the season).
200 Stuart Street, Theatre District (617-482-1800)

Further Afield
If Boston doesn’t cut it, get thee to the Hotel Indigo in Newton, where a 45 minute ride on the T will get you poolside for just $25. The cocktail list is killer and, as a bonus, the pool is open to non-guests on the weekends... when the place turns into a replica of the caddy swim scene from Caddyshack. But in a good way.
