It’s time to face reality: you may never pitch a perfect game, marry a perfect 10 or, hell, even bowl a perfect 300.
But you can still drink perfection at Del Frisco’s celebration of the unheralded 2008 Penfolds Grange Shiraz.
And in case you're not up on current wines, it's kind of a big deal.
As the first Penfolds Grange Shiraz since 1976 to earn the ultra-rare 100-point rating from industry bible The Wine Advocate, sampling this “wonderfully opulent” and “magic" vintage will run you about $200 — but damn if it’s not one hell of a way to impress a date.
But because drinking on an empty stomach is highly discouraged even when sipping some of the world’s best wines, Del Frisco’s has custom designed a five-course meal to complement this stunning young wine.
As you dine on duck confit crostini appetizers and a main course of porcini-dusted beef tenderloin with buttermilk blue cheese, you'll want to drink slow and savor every sip (perfection can't be rushed).
But hey, feel free to miss out. You’ll probably get called up to pitch in the big leagues soon.
Any day now.
