Legendary voices are instantly recognizable: think James Earl Jones, or that homeless guy with the Golden Voice.
In other words, you don't think of Marc Maron, the veteran comedian who performs at the Wilbur Theatre on Saturday.
Even if you don't recognize the voice, you know the face. Maron's 20-year career has seen him take his act to Broadway, television (including a forthcoming show on IFC) and books, plus about a million times as a guest of Conan O'Brien.
But the most important place it's taken him? His garage, which doubles as the studio for his runaway hit WTF Podcast, where Maron interviews comedians in typically biting and darkly funny style.
Tune in and you might hear Maron discussing failed gigs with Robin Williams, or how he missed his chance for SNL by showing up stoned for the interview.
Or you could hear it from the man himself at one of two sets on Saturday night.
We think you'll recognize his voice after that.
