Sterling's embraces Cold War-era comforts with Mad Men-era style

From McDonald's to Banana Republic, Mad Men has inspired some pretty interesting trends.

Our personal favorite? The two-hour liquid lunch meeting, making a comeback at the Financial District's new '60s stunner Sterling's.

The retro theme leaps right from the AMC set directly to this sexy interior of herringbone marble wall tiles, leather booths, and 120 seats in an outdoor patio area perfect for dusting off that spring fedora.

If you've ever tried to keep up with every drink in an episode, you're trained and ready to complete your Don Draper impersonation. Go with a Harvey Wallbanger or a Ginger Grant packed with ginger liqueur, vodka, and simple syrup with ginger ale and fresh lemon. Then repeat. And repeat.

Now all you need is someone to play Jackie to your JFK so you can feed each other oysters over some Perry Como records. Or maybe you could just share bites from the menu, featuring classic dishes from the Julia Child era including french onion soup, clams casino, coq au vin, and steak frites.

Alert your secretary: this lunch meeting's gonna run long.
