Paddy Party

St. Patrick leads you down the path to booze-fueled enlightenment

Ah, St. Patrick's Day. So much to drink, so little time.

Here are our picks for keeping your glass full all day Sunday.

Grafton Street
We know St. Patrick's is supposed to be all about drinking, but you'll need to eat something before downing pints of Guinness. We suggest something from the traditional Irish menu at Grafton Street, featuring classics shepherd's pie, corn beef & cabbage, and beef stew made with Guinness to get you started.
1230 Massachusetts Ave., Harvard Square (617-497-0400)

Luck of the Irish Pub Crawl
We aren't sure if the St. Patrick's legend involved him pounding drinks at his favorite pubs while wearing a green souvenir t-shirt, but it's as good a reason as any to grab a crew of friends and tear through the bars of Faneuil Hall on Sunday.
Starts at Mija, 1 South Market St., Fanueil Hall (212-724-3900). $10-20 here.

Lansdowne Pub
If parades or crawls aren't your style, we're dropping anchor at this all-day, all-purpose fest in Fenway featuring authentic Irish food, an afternoon's worth of live music and absolutely zero green beer. This one'll be a whole new kind of Green Monster.
9 Lansdowne St., Fenway (617-247-1222)

The Beehive
There's something about hearing Irish music in a pub that inspires us to, honestly, drink more. Consider the stylings of Matt & Shannon Heaton as your invitation to raise a glass at Beehive, alongside a menu of hearty favorites from the Emerald Isle and drink specials from Kilbeggan, Tyronnell, and Connemara Irish Whiskeys.
541 Tremont St., South End (617-423-0069)
