Men's Insider Guide

Boston gets crazy this time of the year. Which is why we've teamed up with Nordstrom to help you do it right. Here's the inside tip on Boston's hottest holiday activities, paired up with the latest style picks from Nordstrom Men's Shop, so you can put together the perfect look for all your holiday plans.

Bring on the Bebbly: NYE at The Beehive
Pick a neighborhood, pick a bar, pick a drink package - since when does a night out involve so much decision making? Limit it to one: do you want another glass of champagne?
French fêteClass things up with a discothèque burlesque soiree with champagne flowing alongside food from chef Rebecca Newell.
Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: A special evening calls for special attire. Pair this fitted blazer with straight leg jeans to show you're trying just hard enough. Get it here.
9p-2:30a. 541 Tremont St., South End (617-423-0069). $75-$115 here

Nearby: B&G Oyster; Hamersley’s Bistro; The Butcher Shop

Light Up: Holiday Cruise
The start of the holidays marks the beginning of competitive tourist dodging season – the most extreme of sports.
All aboard: Take to the water and peep the lights along Boston Harbor from the comfort of a secluded yacht - complete with warm beverages.
Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: Keep things classy with slim fit corduroys. Pair ‘em with this paisley blazer, perfect for drinkings with out-of-towners or wowing your girlfriend. Get it here.
Sat Dec 15 and 22 4p. 70 Long Wharf, Boston Harbor (617-770-0400). $20. Nearby: The Living Room; Cheers Bar; Joe’s

Xtreme Xmas: Liberty Hotel
No, you are not crazy. All those hours of shopping, carolers, and twinkle lights have not caused you to crack. Those trees hanging from the lobby of the Liberty Hotel are indeed upside down.
A drink with a view: The trees can be viewed from any level of the hotel's rotunda, but we recommend a seat in the Catwalk bar while sipping on a glass of red.

Nordstrom Men’s Shop makes it easy: ‘Tis the season to dress your best with a Lubaim blazer and V-neck sweater vest. Get it here.
215 Charles St., West End (617-224-4000). Nearby: Alibi; Beacon Hill Pub; Seven’s Ale House

Skate Sharp:
The Rink at The Charles Hotel

You don't eat at the kiddie table anymore, so don't skate on the kiddie pond.
The rink at the Charles Hotel is about a sexy as they get with a built-in bench that lets you dangle your feet on the ice with out actually spinning around it.
Spending more crawling than gliding? Trade in the wannabe-winter-Olympian tricks for a treat at the bar. There’s a glass of hot butter rum with your name on it.

Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy:  Pair this not-your-Dad's-Christmas sweater from Nudie with a Pendleton plaid shirt and J Brand jeans to stay warm and toasty while you're on the ice. Get it here.

1 Bennett St., Harvard Square (617-864-1200). Nearby: legal Sea Food; Red House; Grafton Street.

Pig Out: Wine & Swine Dinner at Posto
Time to secure the lineup, because it takes an army (or a team of hungry friends) to devour the elegant, extravagant swine and wine dinner at Posto.
Every Monday, an entire heritage breed Vermont pig spends some quality time in the wood-burning oven before being served caveman-style with seasonal sides.
In addition to an appetite, your team is going to need a uniform.

Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: Spice up a pair of easy black BOSS pants and a crisp white Eton Contemporary button-down with a velvet plaid blazer from Joseph Abboud. Get it here.

187 Elm St., Davis Square (617-625060). $39 per person, $59 with wine pairing. Nearby: The Burren; Joshua Tree; Foundry.
